Why is Oliveira getting a pass?

Oliveira fought a total of 3 minutes this year and took no damage, but he's saying Oct is not enough time to fight Islam?

Meanwhile Volk is injured and is getting surgery and he says he's ready to fight Islam in Oct.

Can we stop with the "champ has a name" bullshit now?
 
Exciting fighter. But honestly not sure why people are pushing for Islam rematch so soon after he got blown out of the water. He's won one fight since then, looked good but there's plenty others to give a shot to. Maybe if the fight wasn't so one sided, but he needs to beat another grappler first to earn it.

Oh I agree, but a few weeks ago MMA fanbase was insisting that Islam-Oliveira 2 was THE fight to make. It won't happen next cause Oliveira doesn't feel like it but he's getting absolutely zero blowblack lol. I feel bad for Dariush, he actually wanted the TS, should've just made that fight to begin with.

Because one guy is a legit goat contender and thinks he can beat Islam, while the other guy is shook and knows he will be folded again

Volk is a real G. I'm picking Islam to beat him, but he is mentally bulletproof and believes 100% he can beat Islam. He definitely has a shot

Charles will fold again. He was severely outclassed. Terrible match up for him

Oliveira is a great fighter for sure but lets be realistic for once, Volk is one of the best to ever enter in a cage to fight another human being. There is definetely a gap between them.
Volk Islam II, lets go !

Olivera was a great champ, but that was pretty close to the level of Jones/Shogun blowout. Not a lucky punch or sub, but start-to-finish brutal ending. Would people give Dariush a rematch with Olivera if he wins his next fight? That could be more interpreted as a fluke than Islam/Olivera. LW desperately needs to move the fuck on. No Volk or Olivera rematches unless those dudes take out all the contenders underneath.

Volk might be the most mentally strong fighter in the UFC since Khabib left, his mindset is bulletproof for sure.
 
I guess you are his doctor and know that he is 100% and is not hiding any injuries or issues he doesn't want his opponents to know about.

But tbh for me he is just trying to get a bump in paid, the UFC might enter in desperation mode if Volk has his surgery and after Volk, Charles is the biggest name they could get for Abu Dhabi.

Charles is the draw here and number one fan favorite fighter. He does not need go to Abu Dhabi if he has bad wibes there. It is not his problem that there will be no real mainevent without him or Volks.
 
Being the most prolific finisher in UFC history counts for most of it. Agreed he needs another win before getting another TS though. Not like his fight with Islam was close
 
He’s not going to get a pass with ufc management. His title shot is gone. Going to have to go win another fight

Has a case of already beating Islam and believes 100% he will win

Charles doesn't have his mental strength

I'd much prefer Volk anyway. It's boring watching a fight when you know the other guy will win

“Bad vibes” lol. If this is true then all the folks who used to call Charles a mentally weak quitter were correct after all.
