These are just her own vlogs on her personal YouTube channel, tons of fighters do this.
I think she's pushed because she's from Dana's Contender Series, a lot of fighters that came from there seem to be.

To be fair. There is really a strong argument for her winning the Lee fight. Lee did nothing with her takedowns

I think it's that she's being pushed despite showing little potential. She's not that great and doesn't seem to make much improvements. I could see it go either way personally and didn't care who won tbh. I guess the rules take damage over position but I tend to still put more on grappling considering you are dictating where the fight is which should hold some weight.

I think Maycee is simply promoting herself like the UFC would like her to do. It gets her fans. When I look at the media scores. It was almost a majority draw barring one media outlet that also chose Barber: so even the media had her winning. I had Lee winning but need to watch the fight again.

I disagree in that I think she makes MASSIVE improvements from fight to fight.

Especially her striking. It was complete dog shit when she fought Alexa but now she is have competitive bouts on the feet with Andrea Lee. Hard to ignore IMO

It was pretty terrible.

But she mostly fixed that.

Her stance is different now. She has a lot less wasted movement. Her feinting is way better. She able to enter and exit more efficiently. She able to be aggressive from the start.

I think she has made massive strides in a relatively short period. Her TDD and her get ups are bad tho. She has been exposed by two very poor grapplers. She would get eaten slice by grapplers at the top of the division

She's a decent prospect: only 24, booking Ws, American, decent record 12-2, on a 4 fight winstreak. Not like I'm a crazy fan of wmma nor Barber but it's understandable.

IIRC, the push started when she was telling everyone her goal was to beat Jones’ record of youngest UFC champion ever. She also helped her case by being fairly attractive and media savvy. Obviously, she won’t make her original goal, but the UFC still seems invested in making her a star.

As for her potential, I’m pessimistic. The way she handled her loss to Roxie, as well as her father stepping in and getting involved, raises a lot of red flags. She might prove me wrong, though.

Your post isn't clear. The poll is about whether or not she has potential, which she definitely does. But then all commentary is about why she's getting such a push, which I agree, I don't quite get. She's got potential, sure, but she's like watching paint dry as well. So the push seems forced.
