First let me start off by saying I like Dustin, and I will be forever grateful to him for caving Colin's face in and putting the final nail in the coffin of a cancerous fanbase.

That said, the guy beat a dude who now had to be saved by a ref in 3 of his last 4 pro fights. Sure it was a high profile win in terms of popularity and instagram followers, but in reality it was a win against a guy with a losing record in the division who has not been relevant in the octagon since 2016.

So why are people pretending that Dustin is suddenly the uncrowned champ of 155 who can pick his opponents, say guys like Chandler don't deserve a shot at him while calling out Nate Diaz, etc... He got crushed by the champ two fights ago, barely scraped by Dan Hooker in his previous fight, and now got a win over a guy who really shouldn't even be ranked.

Again, not dismissing his win as meaningless, Conor was a dangerous opponent and a tough matchup, but why are we suddenly pretending that Dustin is somehow ahead of Chandler and more importantly Oliveira who has been the best 155 (excluding Nurm) over the past 2 years.

If Khabib is not coming back, Do Bronx should definitely be the next guy fighting for the title, and Dustin should be happy to be his opponent.

Khabib is gone. Tony can't buy a win. Conor just got his lights put out by Dustin. Those have been the top 3 fighters in this division for the last few years. Also, Dustin already finished Gaethje by TKO. Why wouldn't he feel like he's the (unofficial) champ?

It seemed that there was a possibility that Conor vs Dustin could have been for the belt at one point, I didn't get the impression Dustin thought he was a Champion, quite the opposite in fact, he seems a little deflated that he'll never truly be able to feel like one with Khabib out the way.

I agree completely. I like Poirier as much as anyone and that was a great win but he needs to chill. He's still in the same realm as guys like Chandler, Oliveira, and Gaethje. Him talking like he's above Chandler and the uncrowned champ and all that was silly. He has more to prove in the wake of Khabib's retirement, just like they all do.

Dude you could've cut the bs and just said charles vs dustin or bust and i think we all would've backed you.
but this shit? No.
I should have said excluding Khabib obviously, so yes the best still active lightweight.

Having agreed with that, I could not disagree more that Chandler should be ranked ahead.

Oliveira? I mean, I still think Dustin has done more, but Poirier had a shot and Oliveira hasn't. So that's fair enough.

But Chandler? He's had one fucking fight in the UFC, impressive or not, it was Dustin's leftovers, a guy that Poirier almost killed. No fucking way should he be ahead, or anywhere near Poirier.

Poirier has been quietly grinding away notching up good wins in the UFC for many years, for some reason taken for granted by MMA fans. He deserves money fights and another shot at the title.

This pic is from today bro...

Oliveira last two years? Didn't he tap out to strikes two years ago against Felder?
Dude he’s on an 8 fight win streak and finished everyone except Tony, he’s super active and at the peak of his form. We all know Felder would get strangled in a rematch.

Im fine with Porier being the champ for his win over McGregor. In his first defense give him Aloe Vera.

Bro, Dustin and hooker were literally tied going into the fifth round, where is this narrative that Dustin killed him so badly coming from?

Say what you will, but chandler absolutely flattened hooker inside a few minutes and was Bellator champ multiple times, he’s got very good credentials and more importantly a championship mentality and attitude right now, I wouldn’t put it past him at all to win the UFC title if given the opportunity.

if khabib and dana would quit playing games for ratings

they could have made dustin conner for interrim champ.

there is no one more deserving than dustin.

dustin vs olive oil for interim and justin vs chandler for number 1 contender. winners fight for the unified belt?

This narratives about Poirier, Chandler and Oliveira last 2 days, will make Gaethje picking them apart all even sweeter.
