1) Johny Hendricks decided he was in control of the UFC and who he will fight by saying he will only fight for the belt nothing else. (He is an employee not employer he might want to realize he is not bossing Dana around EVER) Who has ever done something like that and was rewarded?? Cant say Sonnen because he fought both Bisping and Stann. So who???
- Maybe this is Dana subliminally responding "get real noob" (lol i wish)

2) Nick Vs GSP has been a hotly debated topic for almost 2 years. Enough of the debate and time to put up or shut up (both sides)

3) No matter what people's general hate for Diaz will cloud their judgement on their opinion of who GSP should fight. (you can argue that me being a fan of nick's is the reason i want to see it) but in any case both haters and fans wanted to see the fight earlier in year for whatever reason.

No matter what there will those that complain but haters feel free to hate on sherdog because nothing will change

I dont care if the others here whine, this is the fight i wanted to see.
So I am happy.

Excellent points and I agree with most of it. Bottomline is all GSP had to do was ask for this fight and UFC had an out to make the fight. No doubt it is a money fight and a fight that many want to see. They look like good guys by giving GSP something he wants in return for his contributions over the years.

I'm happy about this fight. As impressive as Hendricks victories have been I would still rather see the controversy between GSP and Diaz settled once and for all. Also, many people have been saying they think Hendricks gives GSP problems. However, I see it going just like the Koscheck II fight. Can't take him down. Jab and circle away from big right hand.

Also, this will be one of the first times in a long time an opponent for GSP isn't going to come in with a "respect" of GSP, he'll come in with a competitive hatred and maybe that'll show a different side of Georges and a different style of fight, altho we all know its gonna be a ground and pound display with small moments of standup sprinkled in.

I want to see if Diaz is going to shit talk and flip GSP off from his back.

209 Stockton comin at it all day u no was good

You missed the biggest reason. It's going to be an awesome fight. Truthfully, I think it's more competitive then GSP v Hendricks, although I like that fight too.

I AGREE 100 PERCENT . its crazy how all of a sudden people hate on this fight when just a few month backs everyone couldn't wait for it.

My big issue is that the fighters are picking the fight at this point... not the promotion. I have become disenchanted with other sports (i.e. NBA) due to the prima donna attitudes of the participants. I know that Diaz got under GSP's skin, but he has been doing nothing for a year after failing a drug test after losing a match. Hendricks has won 5 in a row with 3 finishes in under 2 minutes. Two of those opponents have fought for the title and another one has hovered around the top of the heap for a few years now. How has he not earned it? You can't say he is boring with the 3 fast finishes either. I don't agree with his attitude of sitting out until he gets a title fight. But even GSP knows that Hendricks is more deserving of the fight.

It is what it is though... and the UFC is a business and needs to make money and I will admit that Diaz sells more than Hendricks.

Diaz will be dominated he's fought no one near as good as GSP. He will be ground and pounded.

i cant say more deserving though. I can say they both deserve it. Reasons are that Nick deserved the fight earlier this year. Sure he lost to Condit but its so highly controversial that even the UFC was quick to want a rematch.
I will not say Hendricks does not deserve it though, he has earned his shot. But i want GSP vs Diaz so i cant be mad either way.

Screw people who bitch about this matchup, it's been a long time coming and is easily the most interesting fight stylisticly. It does make me laugh thinking about all the nay-sayers who have literally called Diaz irrelevant for a year and BAM-title shot. Lol go cry/bitch/moan about it whilst the rest of us Iook forward to a great fight.

Diaz is one lucky man. He screws over the UFC before his first scheduled fight against GSP and gets removed from the card. Then he loses his interim title fight against Condit, and then gets suspended for weed. What does the UFC do? Gives him another title shot against GSP. Who says it doesn't pay to be controversial. War Diaz, but still bs for Hendricks.

Life isnt fair. There are those who deal with it and grind harder and those who sit and cry about it. Which one will hendricks be?

Cesar better buy some good screws for his windows...
After lurking Sherdog since 2006ish I had to make an account only to quote this awesome post. Hilarious! I laughed my ass off to the point of tears. It would be shameful if it wasn't so true. :)

Back to lurking. Whoever you are Flying3rdArmbar stay awesome.
