He looked to be in a great spot a couple of years ago with appearances on fox, his ariel and the bad guy show on espn etc.

Since ariel has been kicked out of the ufc and espn and become redundant I noticed chael has been outcasted as well. Is dana punishing him for working with Ariel? It is kind of sad to see chael relegated to putting out artarded takes on youtube to stay relevant.

It's because he kept failing drug tests.

This is when the UFC was trying to clean up the sport.

While some of you may say, "Well Joe and Dana are probably on something." The fact is that they weren't athletes competing and they didn't publicly fail a drug test.

It's a bad look for the UFC (who is trying to be seen as taking drug testing seriously) to have one of their analysts have such a history.

C H E A T I N G ..... He should have stayed a commentator because he was great at it. But he could only win the silver medal, smelt Gold, and lost his USADA fight. UFC and FOX terminated him for his failed drug test.

Its hard to pindown exactly when it happened but between the PED suspension and fighting in Bellator his relationship with the UFC clearly deteriorated. I don't think he's blacklisted so much as he lost his spot in the UFCs inner circle. His spot in the UFC ecosystem was kinda taken by DC(a tragedy tbh).

Working with Ariel couldn't have helped but DC worked with Ariel despite being a company man and it didn't curtail his rise at all.

A more general view is Chael is too much of a loose cannon and wasn't really the right sort of spokesperson for the Disney era. He fit more with the MMA culture of the early 2010s. Now the UFC's focus is trying to be "just another sport". The trash talking rebel attitude might not be welcome.
