Joe Silva always lets Joseph Benavidez fight non-ranked fighter expect Ian McCall.

Except Ian McCall, and Demetrios Johnson... And John Moraga next..

Anyway I think Joseph Benavidez vs. John Dodson is one of the best fights the company can put together, but UFC is probably just waiting for the right time to pull the trigger. Personally thats one i'd want to see as 5 rounds.

The chance that if Benavidez defeats Dodson then there goes a contender. Joe B already lost twice to Johnson so there's no need for a third fight in the meantime. If Dodson were to lose to Johnson , then most likely this match happens.

Because Joe might/could beat Dodson, then what? He will most likely get thru Zach M n then get his rematch with mighty mouse

Because Benavidez would easily beat Dodson and he just got KTFO losing twice to the champ.

I don't see Dodson getting a fight like that before a MM rematch. With so many people thinking he's the hardest fight for the champ I don't think they'll give him fights that he's not a pretty good bet to win. Him vs. Benavidez is a close fight and he won't get anyone who isn't getting a title shot against MM anytime soon.

More Dodson please!
He's a character that can fight.
To John: you are forbidden to get injured.

It's Sean Selby who won't make the fight happen, not Joe.

I guess cause there's no point rushing Joe B back into contention right now when he's already lost twice to the champ (even if I disagree with the decision in the first fight, there's no way around the second).

You really thought Joe won the first fight?

Timing.

Are you mixing up Joeys, and Dodsons performances?

I've always wondered this myself. Moraga is, finally, a pretty good matchup up for post-multiple MM loss Benavidez but JoeB vs. Dodson should have already happened.

Because Joe Silva doesn't make matches in lower weight classes. Sean Shelby does.

You can't risk Dodson losing to someone that lost to the champ twice.

Short answer: Because it's fucking stupid.
Long answer: If Benevidez wins, there goes another contender.

Because Silva gets nervous in front of cute young fellas, just like his buddy Bruce Buffer :icon_chee

But seriously, I have no idea what's up with Dodson. I feel pretty secure in assuming Benevidez will fight anyone he has to.
