I don’t understand why the ufc forces young development to get destroyed by vets. This is rule number 1 of promotion. Have your future star destroy some jobbers and then give them harder fighters.

why doesn’t the ufc do like they do in boxing or the wwe and employee some Jabroni’s to get destroyed so young talent don’t get burned out.

This is how easy a guy like Northcur should have dominated his opponents!!
Not send him to be killed by a kick boxer.

Al Snow needs to come back. WWE jobber who trained MMA with Dan Severn.

If you notice MMA does better rating wise overall compared to boxing. Its just the few big fights that makes boxing seem better off then it is.

Because this isn't boxing. Showcase and tune up fights are bullshit. Especially for the fighters that only fight once or twice a year.

Jordan Leavitt vs Matt Wiman was a squash match.

Dana White believes that kind of match making is what is killing boxing.

The UFC books fights to match up styles that will create interesting match ups or entice favs to watch

Their approach to matchmaking is a large part of the reason they are so successful

That kind of do it already. They do development deals, and they certainly give people fighters they have a chance of beating. I would argue this all happens as the natural progression to a star. I often think when they give them an experienced older big name it is their chance to take the torch.

I do however agree it isn't like boxing where the goal is competitive fights. It is why a loss in MMA isn't as bad to your career as boxing. If you lose a couple of fights in your first half dozen in boxing you are basically done.

I'd rather watch a guy with a 10-5 record against good competition than someone with a 20-0 record against no one I've ever heard of.

To be honest , I would prefer some ham and egger in there for a round, get destroyed and leave. Get sole face time on TV for the young talent and the jobber gets his $2500 or whatever

Every Shevchenko fight is a squash match.

Chad Mendes vs. Cody McKenzie, ring a bell?

It goes two ways, you can always guarantee the UFC feeding Arlovski a young and promising HW, kinda like a sink or swim moment.
