Did you know there's no UFC this weekend?
The casuals didn't know.

When Paul fought Diaz, the UFC had counter-programming.
When Paul fought Anderson, the UFC had counter-programming.
When Paul fought Woodley, the UFC had counter-programming.
When Perry fought Rockhold, the UFC had counter-programming.
When Belfort fought Holyfield, the UFC had counter-programming.
When Canelo fought whatshisface, the UFC had counter-programming.

Why suddenly stop now?
Ngannou is no longer part of the UFC, so how come there's no counter-programming?
Is the UFC telling casuals that the other boxing match featuring Ngannou vs whatshisface is more important than a UFC event?

Because they tried too make too huge card around it with UFC 294 and 295, but both fell apart dramatically with injuries in the main events.

Ngannou and Fury maybe picked the weekend for that reason?

They don’t give a fuck. I’d be surprised if you ever heard his name again on any broadcast, etc. Once you’re of no use to Dana, or you do something he doesn’t like. You more or less get written out of UFC history.

I’m just glad he left.

Francis owned the UFC again. He’s making 8 figures while one of UFC’s biggest cards of the year just got ruined. Ngannou stays winning.

Fury/Ngannou is just too big for the UFC to compete. I bet PPV is going to be 1M+

fury/ngannou is in the afternoon in US so it wouldnt even have competed with UFC and more importantly they picked a weekend the UFC was off.

Yo, at least we got one motherfucker with a brain in this place.

Word up to your brain, other people fucking take notes, this is how you do it.

Ngannou vs Fury is also on ESPN.

Just checked. They're charging the same price as a UFC PPV. Was hoping for a bargain.

I mean theres pretty much no MMA this weekend, not just no UFC.
Fury/Ngannou is pretty much unapposed but even still 80 bucks is a tough fucking ask for a freakshow fight...

Perhaps they know Francis is going to have his dopey face punched into the back of his head and they want to watch.
Yeah Francis is about to get his head punched in repeatedly by an extremely skilled and very large HW boxer. They are selling this fight on Francis one punch death touch, but when you are as skilled as fury there is no way Francis is landing thst. I think Francis is going to get his faced jabbed off.

The UFC realizes that any attempts to counter-promote an event are going to fail. Ngannou/Fury will inevitably do huge numbers because it's a super intriguing storyline (Lineal HW UFC champion-who-never-lost-his-belt Ultra smasher, fights undefeated all-time great champion boxer). No one cares that it's going to be a one-sided affair. It's got all the freak show elements with two of the respective best in their sports. Will it do Conor-Mayweather numbers??? HELL NO. But will it succeed and generate tons of cash, sure. Last thing Dana wants is for people to compare this money maker to whatever shit job they'd pull off at the Apex.

They dont want him to have higher ppv than the ufc so they ran away, its cowardly move the right move would've been booking islam vs volk the same weekend and competing for views
