Sorry to say this if it offends you but the LHW division for the past 5 years has been bland. Even if Jones were to come back, his competition is only DC, Rumble and Gustaf.

Jones beat a lot of old guys out of their prime and he gets praised like he's the GOAT. I think his come back will show his true abilities without PEDs and will make the division look even weaker.

A welterweight (Rumble) proved how weak it is by beating the top 5 guys when he couldn't beat a top 20 guy (Koscheck) well he was top 10 at the time but still...if prime 170 Rumble were to fight WW division now, he would lose to the following:

- Woodley
- Condit
- Rory
- Wonderboy
- Robbie
- Maia
- Comeback GSP
- Hendricks
- Cerrone
- Gastellum

Rumble at 170 was stifling his own potential because he never belonged at that weight, this is like saying Conor at 125 would get owned.

Rumble had a lot of momentum in that division until he got choked out by Kos, matter of fact he was the favorite.

The weight limits are stupid.

205 185 170.

In boxing you have 200 and 175.

If you're at 205 you're either big enough to fight at HW or you can cut down to 185 with no problem.

Meaning that you can avoid DC, Jones and Rumble and go for the title in more competitive divisions where the title switches hands more often.

If DC, Rumble and Jones would suddenly be out of the picture I'm sure a lot of MWs would move up and try their luck. More than half of MWs are former LHWs.

One of the principal reasons is that this man is the current top dog.

He sucked in Street Fighter II in 1993, and he sucks now.

Guard changing didn't happen yet. In few years guys like Cormier, Teixeira, Manuwa, Shogun, Lil Nog will be gone while younger, freshier fighters will move up.

No real fresh blood in the division, and some of the older greats have left for MW or retired or dropped their activity to zero. Really needs some fresh blood in that division so it's not just rematch after rematch (though I am excited for DC vs Rumble 2).

Don't worry a 40 year old Soldier of God will save the division. Pretty sure he fucks up DC and Jones. Rumble might be tough.

Rumble had a lot of momentum in that division until he got choked out by Kos, matter of fact he was the favorite.

He was the favorite on a few sites by a little bit when odds closed, opened as the underdog on most or all sites (5 dimes opened with Josh at -195) so you could say he was the favorite but most real fans picked Josh to win (I had a measly $10 on Josh simply to bet).

Anyway,Rumble wasn't even close to the same fighter he is now, beat a lot of bums at 170 and even lost to Rich Clementi who came up from 155 to fight Rumble iirc on a few days notice (Rumble weighed in at 177) and Rich still choked him out.The comparison is just plain stupid, and to use it as an example of why LHW "sucks" is just idiotic. The division is one of or the weakest because there's simply not a ton of great fighters in it,what isn't obvious about that?A prime Rumble at 170 lol.

It's so funny that you say a WW rumble proved how weak 205 is because he failed to do the same stuff at 170,it's literally funny, what are you thinking?
