Why does hardly anyone use the leg sweep?

Seems to be a technique that could be highly effective, especially for grapplers (leg sweep to roll to strangle choke). The leg sweep for those who don't know:

Now, the guy in this video has well-defined glutes, so that may be why he's so good at doing leg sweeps. I'm not sure if that's why UFC fighters don't use them, maybe they don't have the musculature to do an effective sweep. Tony doesn't seem to have a problem using them, however:

This guy also landed one on Wonderboy.

Might be a good technique for women since they often struggle to land a TD due to weakness. What do you guys think? Why's this so underutilized?

I don’t know which fight it was but I’ve seen a clip where the guy did a cartwheel to backflip combo for no particular reason and admittedly I felt as though his opponent could have timed sweeping him perfectly and brutally.

I know you're just being a useless troll but Cody no love had used them pretty effectively I'm a couple of fights.

could be highly effective
I think that like the spinning backfist and shit like this, it can only be really effective if the opponent doesn't expect it. If you start spamming it, or just doing it regularly, the opponent will not only block/avoid it, he'll also start thinking about a counter. And at the next opportunity he has, you get mauled.

High risk low percentage move. Guys from your videos also get up very fast from it.

Garbrandt did it in his last fight and it looked cool. Bit it's basically high risk, high energy, low reward move that looks cool. A tad more effective than a Pereira backflip.

Cerrone use to use Muay Thai sweeps relatively often, that was basically the only thing he had success with against Nate.

Are you the guy that scientificaly proved us via "probability" Ngannou was going to win ?

What a great mind
