Why do title worthy contenders call for the BMF belt instead of the real championship?

You have fighters recently calling out for the BMF belt - Anthony Hernandez, David Garcia, and now Benoit St Denis.
These guys are top ranked, championship worthy, and should be next in line for the title.

How come they aren't calling out the real champion of the division?
I don't get it.
