Has anyone figured this out yet? Everyone knew what would happen yet Nate and his team chose this impossible style match up for himself.

Nate's delusional. Or at least that's what I thought originally. Props to Nate for doing way better than expected.

Because he couldn't get Masvidal or Conor. Edwards is a striker and a win over him would have put him in line for a title shot.

He looked at the landscape and thought a win over Leon would propel him to TS talks or more super fights. Prob saw Leon a bit pillow fisted that used a lot of clinching and thought that was HIS bread & butter and could do it better in a contest like that even though he is not the athlete Leon is….idk?

Nate is clearly just trying to finish his contract out. He fought the dude nobody else wanted to as he said he would. Are you shocked he followed through when thats been his mantra?

Leon's British. Brits are known for many things. Not being able to wrestle is one of them. Nate was looking for a stand up fight.

High ranking, primarily a striker, not known for finishes. Plus maybe he just wanted to fight and took whoever they gave him.

'Cause Nate was bigger? LOL.

Will be interesting if we ever get an honest answer out of Nate. Probably his most winnable fight in the WW top 5...

Top 5 fighter that fights safe every time and cant finish a sandwich. He just needed 1 moment and there it was in the 5th.

Nate got pieced up for 4 rounds, bloodied and still came out of the fight not losing any stock at all and prolly gaining it. While Leon was booed and stanky legged and nearly TKOd lol

He said he wanted to fight a guy everyone else was ducking.

He said something like "I was like no one else wants to fight this guy so fuck it I will."

Because a win meant a title shot.

If Nate had beaten Edwards, it was all but certain that Usman was have demanded him as his next opponent. There is no one else at 170 who represents nearly as big a pay day for him.
