Reebock deal and UFC rules prevent fighters from wearing anything that isn't Rebock or UFC brand. Also fighters aren't allowed to have a banner with sponsors on it and hang it from the cage like the old UFC days... So why are fighters allowed to hold Monster cans while the decision is being read out?

Special partnership.

Monster > Reedork

Because bud light won't pay them nothin

With all the chemicals in Monster you would think it would be banned by USADA

This. Monster predates Reebok as a sponsor by a long, long time. Monster probably has enough pull to just tell Reebok to fuck off.

Also I highly doubt an athletic wear company and an energy drink company see themselves as rivals. If anything there's corporate synergy there.

probably because the UFC gets more money from them than the fighters do.

Probably the same way Monster is allowed to put a giant fookin 'M' in the center of the UFC's cage

The fighters who are sponsored by Monster (Cowboy, Woodley, Jones, Cormier, Holloway) wear the "M" in the space reserved for additional sponsors. Usually, you'll see everyone else rocking that P3 logo; however, in Australia, UFC has a similar deal with TAB, and in Brazil there's a deal with TNT.

I'm surprised it took this long for somebody to point out that Monster is a actually UFC sponsor. Just like the empty Body Armor water bottles at the post fight pressers. They've been green lit by the UFC.
