Found this great poll on IMDb. I'm stealing it. I cropped the directors I didn't think made sense (like those who have already directed a Bond movie). Let's pretend Bond was as he always was, and avoid torturing ourselves over the prospective overhaul to the 00 agent leading the series.

Who would you want to see steering the next installment? I'm leaving three options so we get a fuller picture of who the forums thinks are the Bond-appropriate directors.

Vaugh has been in the running to direct a Bond film for a while, and he's displayed a bit of the flair of old-school Bond films with these two movies. (Haven't seen the 2nd Kingsman)

As soon as Craig is out and they get a new Bond, Vaugh is my #1 pick by a wide margin.

Nolan is going to be the popular choice because he's Christopher-Fuckin-Nolan, but he hasn't had any interest in franchise films in a very long time - Besides Batman, but it was getting obvious by Rise he was getting tired of it.

you missed out the only Director that could do JB justise.

Lars Von T

I adore him, but I don't think he's the guy.

The top name I probably would have mentioned that wasn't already in the poll is the fellow Frenchman Luc Besson tapped to helm his script, Taken. That of course become a wildly successful franchise. This guy knows how to do adrenaline.

Pierre Morel

  • Taken
  • District B13
  • From Paris with Love
  • The Gunman
  • Peppermint

Luc Besson, yeah theres a good call..

How about John Woo, the John Woo before he went all American.. The Killer and Hardboiled Woo, slow mo Bond with Doves and shit..

Guy Ritchie or Tarantino would be awesome to let their do their own spin with bond.

Matthew Vaughn would be good since kingsman is just a spoof of bond and spy movies.

Danny Boyle already quit as Director for "No Time to Die", so i guess he's out.

Nolan is the easy choice
British ? yes
Great Director ? Yes

With that said they'll probably go with some SJW hack who's gonna make Bond a rapist

I dont wanna see Tarantino anywhere near Bond or Star Trek

Guy Ritchie should always be directing Guy Ritchie movies. He tried to branch out but the result were lackluster. He should stay in his lane, continue to refine on what he does best and do quirky British gangster movies, because they are awesome.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve
Written/Adapted by Taylor Sheridan

I like the idea of David Fincher directing a Bond movie also.

Vaugh does seem like a decent bet, maybe Edgar Wright by the same token as both have the combination of doing action well and selling charisma, Nolan for me is too serious for Bond.

Maybe getting back Martin Campbell might be considered? he's done strong intros to the last two Bond actors.

I thought The Man from U.N.C.L.E was a pretty good Bondesque movie. I think Ritchie could be a safe choice.

His season is over. He had the two good ones, so that's a pretty good season.
