Do you have a solid fuel fire? I don't, I have gas central heating but I wish I had a log burner. There's nothing like a real fire on a cold, snowy night to keep you warm and cosy.

In the UK (presumably in all western countries) the laws are gradually tightening on what solid fuel you can burn at home, in what area and in what kind of stove.

Last house had a real wood burning fireplace.
Absolutely loved it.
Current house does not…but don’t need it here.

We have a blaze roaring in the wood stove as we speak. And yeah, perfect for a cold winter night.

My fireplace is fake, but it still puts off heat. We roast marshmallows & weenies on it

I have one in my basement and one in my garage. It makes my house insurance higher but wood heat just hits different. I don’t use it often but it’s nice on a really cold night. It comes up through the floor vents and gets so hot, I have to open windows.

I have a wood stove. Well had. I started a fire in it and the whole damn thing burst into flame. I think it was just a show piece or replica some woodworker made and not designed to burn an actual fire in.

Ive got a wood burning fireplace, its great when its reallly cold out, and my daughter loves sitting front of the fireplace. Don't use it too often tbh.maybe 8-10 times a year. I dont really use it with the intention of warming up the house, but more so when the kids want to make smores or if its really cold out.
