Halsey has the wrestling to dump Schlemenko repeatedly and get that top game on him. Schlemenko is impressive with his strikes and clinch work but he hasn't really faced a wrestler the quality of Halsey and win the fight (Tito and Lombard).

What do you guys think?

Wrasslin and subs gets Shlemenko in this fight I think. Its just hard to ever count out the sheer amount of experience he has over Halsey.

pretty much everyone is picking halsey but schlemenko did get the better of them when they used to train so who knows

Yeah Halsey is probably the favorite just because Halsey is a big guy and his strengths are Storm's holes. So I think he could take him down and sub him but I still think he gets shit on more then he probably deserves.

He ain't like Top 15 Middleweight or anything but I was one of few who said Tito would probably get the win cause of size and Tito isn't as bad as people like to make him out to be.

So I wouldn't be surprised if Storm won but smart money is on Halsey.

I give Halsey a slight edge due to size and wrestling, but I think people are overreacting to the TIto loss and Halsey's last win somewhat. The difference in weight won't be as huge for this fight, and Halsey has historically been raw with his bjj. I mean he had instincts to go for subs, but he didn't quite know how to pull them off. The sub of Cooper might have signaled a permanent improvement or it was just fluky. We'll eventually see what the truth was.

Also, you have to factor in this is a 5-round fight, and Halsey has shown gas issues against Yager and to a lesser extent Pacheco at 185. He's been more surviving at the end of some 3-round fights, not thriving. And now he'll have 2 more rounds to deal with a terminator. If he doesn't get the early sub, he may be in troub.

and he's no favorite over a.s

Dudes got 50 fights and is the champ.

As a big Storm fan, this fight and this opponent terrify me.

Most everyone on Sherdog always thinks that Shlemenko will lose after he struggled in his most recent fight. He usually proves everyone wrong, though. He struggled against Jared Hess and everyone thought Bryan Baker would destroy him; he struggled against Brett Cooper and everyone thought Doug Marshall would destroy him. Now, he struggled against Tito Ortiz and everyone thinks that Brandon Halsey will destroy him. Shlemenko's got a great chance of victory here, especially after he's gotten some training in with the 'door.

Halsey's submission game's the only thing that Shlemenko has to worry about, and if he's been spending as much time as everyone hopes he's been on his wrestling (and, considering he lives in Russia, it shant have been too hard to find some good wrestlers to learn from), there's a very good chance Alexander will probably not be on the ground long enough for Halsey to get anything going (or at least not in a position on the ground for Halsey to get anything going).

I hope not. I want Schlemenko vs. Manhoef fight ASAP!

Reviewing Schlemenko's fights, I don't really see too much BJJ from the bottom. Halsey has pretty good top control, I just see him controlling Alexander from the top.

Halsey opened at +150 and dropped to even in like 5 minutes. LMAO. I called it at Halsey at 150 too...

Alex is now training with Fedor so his ground game has to be better. I think Halsey is legit however. I think it can really go either way. Hoping for a classic that sets up an anticipated rematch down the line.

The issue with Schlemenko is that he has terrible takedown defense. If he can't improve that aspect of his game this fight is going to go the same route as the Tito fight.
