Usually those little guys can scrap and keep going because of no KO power in their little hands but Merab brought the hump to the lower weight and I am glad Yan and his little Russian mini-hands busted him up. 50-45 is what I had for baby-hands Drago.

I don’t deny that he’s very skilled and his cardio and pace are insane, but I also can’t lie to myself and act like he’s entertaining.

Honestly, if Yan fought like Merab, he could’ve done the same to O’Malley. If Yan didn’t lose his cool and drop the illegal knee, he might’ve had a good title defense run.

Anyway, yeah, I’m happy Yan is the new champ so we can expect some excitement in the title fights.

Exactly brother. It’s a choice to fight like that. A choice that starts in training. There are other more entertaining ways to weaponise Cardio like Ferg for example back in his day
