With all of the discussion about the trilogy being 'remastered' and coming out soon this video came up in my recommended videos on YouTube.

Which made me wonder, which do you remember as the best? Thought a poll would be appropriate to see the actual results of popularity here on Sherdog.

What's interesting about these three games is they're all very different. GTA3 was what popularized the series and open world games in general. Vice City has the best main character and the art direction of a 80s Miami was 10/10, and it had the most iconic soundtrack. San Andreas really showed how HUGE of a open world games could be with three separate cities and wilderness between them, and the game's length was perfect and has never been even attempted to be made in the series since.

My pick -
San Andreas

Its the only GTA game I've ever played multiple times over to the point I can't recall how many times I've replayed it.

The huge open world.
The 90s style and soundtrack.
The story & characters.
The variety of missions.
The RPG mechanics.
Defending gang territory.

As long as it was I was begging for more and its the only GTA game I really wish there was a direct sequel to to see how all the characters's stories continued.

Vice City.

Amazing setting and soundtrack. Fun but simple story. Took everything about 3 and just made it all slightly better.

I know everyone loves San Andreas and I probably put 100 hours into that game but I was kind of burnt out on the series at that point and quite honestly didn't enjoy a lot of the new stuff they added into the game like eating and working out. I appreciate the effort but at the end of the day it didn't heighten my enjoyment of the game. I also thought they tried to cram too much in. In my opinion the game would have been better if they just stuck to LA or maybe southern California like 5. The San Francisco and Vegas parts just felt tacked on.

All that said, I'm looking forward to playing the remaster on game pass and hopefully changing my opinion some.

I never got into VC because of the 80s stuff. SA had too much going on.
Hope these remasters do well so maybe the PSP GTA games will get the same treatment (both were released on PS2 later on).

I know it was a PSP game first, but I had Vice City Stories on the PS2 and thought the gameplay was an improved version of what we got in the original Vice City. That being said, San Andreas takes the cake.

San Andreas was the shit. I was so hyped for that game and it didn’t let me down. I preferred the setting and time of Vice City but San Andreas took GTA to a whole new level with customization, map, activities, etc.

Vice city for me. Being an 80s kids sealed it for me. SA is good as well

San Andreas hands down for me.

Game had everything, from sculpting your body to upgrading your guns.

I feel like the GTA series has only gone backwards from San Andreas.

San Andreas was the high peak of the series

They just announced that San Andreas is coming to VR on the Oculus Quest.
