As the title says, what state has produced the most Champs?

I know New York has 1) Jon Jones, 2) Weidman, 3) Matt Serra...And im tempted to pull in Frank Edgar because its so close, but not quite.

Anymore states (america or brazil) have produced more the 3 champs?

How are you defining the states? Where they live now or where they were born or what?

For Washington you could say Barnett, Couture (or do you count Couture as Oregon), Mighty Mouse, Maurice Smith, Jens Pulver

California: Rousey, Cruz, Cain, Dillishaw, Ricco Rodriguez, etc

The mental state of belief probably.

And I couldn't care less.

Arizona

Cain
Bendo
Dan Severn
Hendo - If you want to consider Pride and Strikeforce championship
Honorable mention - Don Frye - Tournament champion

I can't edit my post due to dubbs. But I suppose Hendo should be considered from CA. I just knew he wrestled at ASU.

but Cain and Hendo are born in Cali, Bendo born in Colorado, Dan Severn in Michigan,

I mean their hometown, where they grew up. I guess it can be 2 places if they split their time.

okay crap, i didnt realize washington had so many. 5 for Washington.

and 6 for California....although I thought Ricco is from Vegas. I have to look it up.

TS hasn't specified if the criteria was strictly where they were born. But I do agree with Hendo as he may be considered from Cali, I just knew he went to ASU.

some rules need to be set or it's just going to devolve into a pissing match about which guys are really from what state

in brazil it`s Rio De Janeiro- 4 champs - Royce, Ruas, Belfort and Bustamante.

if you count all zuffa owned orgs then we have 6 Champions from Rio De Janeiro.

So it`s Rio and California in the lead

I agree it needs to be better defined, I'd say that it should be the state where the fighter fights out of would be better as it would show us which state has produced more champions and has the more successful camps.

Raised in Tacoma and trains in Kirkland.

Was about to say the same... People trying to claim our champion lol :D

Maine has most champs per citizen, perhaps? :icon_twis
