SS '98 looks the best on paper, and by a decent margin at that. WM 4, as others mentioned, has the biggest names. And the new one has some excellent wrestlers(Del Rio, Ziggler, etc), but the lowest average quality per name IMO.

Agreed. It's weird to see this tournament bracket without seeing Brock, Cena, Wyatt included.

I'm just going to assume the new one is going to have the errrr matches.

But the star power belongs to Mania 4.

WM4 had the best talent but it was a terrible show
Deadly Games was much better

Good question TS. Tough call. All have the drawing power from their respective era, but WM4 has all Legends. Plus Savage, who is the Most Legendary of all Legends at WrestleMania IV, participated in the 14-man tournament for the vacant WWF Championship. He had successful matches against Butch Reed, Greg Valentine and One Man Gang, and then went on to the finals, in which he defeated "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase. Savage retained the WWF title for over a year, defending it against the likes of super heavyweights One Man Gang and André the Giant.

I do not feel the need for spoiler tags for a 1998 PPV event. The SS tournament appeared good on paper, but it was too predictable. Everyone believed Austin or the Rock would win it all. I was there for the live show that night. What was with Undertaker and Kane being the one's with byes? Triple H was a no-show so the Rock beat corporate Bossman inside 10 seconds, the same wrestler who losses a quick match to Austin in round 1. Mankind pretty much gets a round 1 bye, since the mystery opponent was Gillberg. Austin gets a round 2 bye after X-Pac/Regal are both counted out, disqualified. Underwhelming tournament if you ask me.

That's funny, I don't remember anyone in 1998 giving a shit that the tournament was predictable. That sounds like a current age complain to me

I think it was the Corporation's plan to have them both destroy each other in their match to the point where the winner wouldn't have much left. It ended up probably being their worst match ever together and didn't even last 8 minutes.

Wait how did Reigns already go over Big Show?

First match happened tonight on RAW and Reigns defeated Big Show to open up RAW

Edit: Nevermind, didn't realize this thread was started this afternoon. How did the threadstarter have access to that bracket before RAW started?
