Just watched Avatar for the first time because of all the hype it got. Amazing show but wth is Zuko's momma? They don't show shit at end. Wtf?

I believe they quickly finished the series because of the writer's strike. We lost a ton of good shows and movies from that. Avatar was just one of the casualties, I'm sure the producers will reveal it at some point in the future, maybe not in the show, but in an interview.

I am going off of recollection which may be flawed but I think it was either:
1.) Died in child birth.
2.) Died protection Zuko from his father.

I feel like the reason Zuko was angry all the time was unresolved issues with his mother's death.
