Gaethje took no damage in the Khabib fight, despite getting put to sleep. He is uninjured as far as I know and overall has taken really minimal damage in the past 3 years and 5 fights.

But it's 9 months without a fight now with no news at all, he seems content these days to corner Kamaru Usman.

Anyone know why he's wasting his prime like this? I hope he fights soon. I look forward to every one of his fights.

Who would you like to see him fight next?

Dana mentioned Chandler as his next potential opponent a while back. I'm assuming Chandler wants an easier fight since Gaethje is a bad stylistic matchup.

Gaethje vs. Oliveira will be unfair to guys like Dariush and Poirier, but I don't understand the reason for this stalemate.

Gaethje needs a rebound fight before fighting for the title again. He got finished in much worse fashion and really needs a good W to earn his way back to title contention. He turned down RDA for whatever reason.

Dustin went through Hooker and McGregor twice, he's clearly earned the shot again.

Gaethje seems to think he deserves a title shot, the rest of the division and Dana disagree.

Same place. He has 1 contract left and Dana is lowballing him (in his opinion) on the next contract, while at the same time offering fights Justin doesn’t want.

Justin counters with saying he hopes he fights in UFC the rest of his career but owes it to himself to sign the right contract.

Dual negotiation power struggles playing out at the same time.

So he either holds out the entire 2 years (if I understand these contract correctly, which I probably don’t) like AA did in 08, then leaves, or he signs a new contract they both agree to and gets a fight they both like.

He got on Dana's list by making demands and complaining about fighter pay. So, he's basically been banished until he's ready to come back and beg. I mean he basically got screwed by getting passed over for the title shot by Chandler. That was basically Dana's FU to him.

The RDA is a good fight for both guys imo, as is the Chandler fight. And I'd favor him in both. With Khabib retiring and McGregor out of the picture, he really is only 1 good win away from a title shot now

Hoping to get some cash and respect for his return so we might not see him

No idea, haven't heard anything. As far as who's available right now, I'd like to see him fight Chandler.
Yes, Gaethje vs Chandler : that would be good.

Justin Gaethje is one of the legit most entertaining exciting UFC fighters in any division. He never put son a boring fight. He is dynamite, win or lose, every time.

Please fix this, UFC management.
