Even if he is an ungrateful person to his ex-coach, a "snake" or whatever accusations levied against him lately, that is still a far cry from actual POS behavior. He hasn't beaten his wife, sucker punched an old man, ran over a pregnant woman, or raped anyone. Professionally speaking, he isn't a drug cheat, and isn't all that inactive (last bout in late March, would have fought again this year if not for pay dispute). And yet some people are having a massive hate-boner for Ngannou right now.

Mind you, I am hardly a Ngannou fan. At best, his fights are reminiscent of boring pro-wrestling squash matches in the 80s/90s (e.g. Hogan or Goldberg destroying jobbers), with not much technical skill displayed in most of his fights (other than the latest one against Stipe, credit where credit is due). And if he doesn't crush his opponents early, you get absolute stinkers like his first performance against Stipe or against Black Beast.

But despite not being a fan of Ngannou, I just don't see why he deserves hate for such stupidly trivial reasons. Oh he's ungrateful? Arrogant? Fake? Refused to acknowledge Gane? Jeez man. These are guys who beat each other up in cages for our entertainment. They are not, and should not be expected to be paragons of virtue. While we can applaud fighters who have sportsmanship and are actual nice guys, hating on a dude for not living up to those standards reeks of pettiness and is simply unjustified.

Everyone is flawed in some way, nobody is perfect. Can people just be allowed to be people? As long as he isn't committing human trash acts like Jones, McGregor, War Machine, Joe Son etc. who the fuck cares if Ngannou is a "snake"? Speaking of which, this goes the same for TJ Dillashaw and Colby Covington.

All this virtue signalling and politically correct BS is sucking the fun out of life.

People are starting to pick sides since fight is getting closer, and alot of people are believing what Fernand Lopez is saying. I do to actually, and I have a feeling Cyril Gane will be too much for Ngannou

Cyril looks like hes the new breed of Heavyweights

for decades ive been hearing things like" new breed" fighters from mma fans like you, its always hype and always followed by "was he even that good" threads. im still waiting for the new breed of rory macdonalds to take over the sport, but its still the same it was 20+ years ago.

It's called the internet, people love to hate. Especially for someone that can earn double or triple their wage annualy by only showing up to work for a 5m or less in the octagon for a year, compared to working 9-5 daily, or the good old 12 hour shift, So people could use that as a reason but I'm sure there's plenty they have that they think is valid.

I never was that impressed with Rory or how he was sold as the next GSP. He was a good fighter but he always looked beatable imo.

If you look at Cyril though hes a very different kind of Heavyweight. Tactical, precise, highly mobile with good footwork. The guy fights like hes not even a heavyweight lol. Think in future you are going to see more heavyweights that are intelligent, tactical fighters like Cyril.

I don't hate the guy, but personally, I don't like the way he consistently tries to get more punches on a comatose opponent before the ref can physically get between the two of them. I know all of the arguments in favor of it, but when a guy is stiffened up on the mat, you can't convince me he doesn't know it before raining down those extra punches with the ref frantically trying to rush in to stop him. Other people respect it. I don't. To each his own.

He let the UFC and fame change him.

I can't support someone who turns their back on someone who housed them and trained them for free all the way to a UFC HW title. I just can't.

I believe the coach when he talks.
I believed Dana after the first Stipe fight that he saw a major personality change and inflated ego in Ngannou.
FFS the dude talks about borrowing money to live while wearing a 300K watch but refused to pay a gym membership of 600 euros a month after becoming an established UFC fighter.

I can't wait for Gane to teach him some gratitude.

Gane's coach is the problem imo. He has that troll look too.

I don't like the "new breed" stuff because it implies that new fighters will look like/be as good as someone else, but to say that fighting today is the same as 2001 is asinine. Jens Pulver, Tito Ortiz, Carlos Newton, and Dave Menne were all champions. How many of those guys even get title shots today? Dave Menne vs Gil Castillo was a title fight. Think about that.

Probably because the UFC is mad at him for his hardball negotiating tactics. Expect Company Ref Herb to be present for his fight and absent at key moments that favor Gane. DC and Joe will talk about Gane's beautiful striking, and be silent for any of Ngannou's good moments.

Does he receive hate from fans really?, most hate seems to be coming from his ex coach, which is a personal issue, and from the UFC/Dana White, which is normal with any fighter that stands up to them
