What's the best red meat? For both taste and health

The "Aussies eat kangaroos" thread got me thinking about this.

Does anyone here eat red meat, besides beef? What's your favorite?

I've never tried venison or any kind of deer steak, always wanted to. Horse steak is also eaten as a lower in fat alternative to beef.

Bison as well.

All the other options sound much healthier than corn fed cow steak.

Joe Rogan regularly eats elk that he hunts. Alexander Gustaffson does as well. They both swear by the health benefits. Is this just BS bro science?

I've read that bison is the healthiest red meat. I can't find it here in S. Korea though.

The grocery store by my house sells it. It's more than beef but I only eat red meat once a week or so. Usually burgers or a ribeye. They can't load them up with steroids and hormones like beef either.

I haven’t had bison in several years but it’s pretty good. It’s got a distinct flavour too, like it’s almost naturally “smoky” or something if that makes sense.

What else counts as red meat? Lamb? If so, not really a fan to be perfectly honest.

I’ve only had moose a couple times.


I don’t remeber it being very special, as in I had to have it again.
Good but when deer is good it’s GOOD

I love Bison too
