Now that the UFC is worked just like pro wrestling, which event was better?
I thought the booking in the earlier matches at UFC 202 was a little short sighted with a bunch of squashes. Sure all the guys who went over look great, but it kind of derailed everyone else. But the main event was great booking. Both guys looked strong and the screwjob finish meant that neither guy truly lost. It also brought a lot of heat to McGregor as the beneficiary of the screwjob. But NXT was on a whole 'nother lever imo. The under card was full of competitive matches as opposed to the squashes on the UFC card and Asuka vs Bailey was a great grudge match with a fantastic downer ending. Bailey's heartfelt goodbye to the NXT crowd was pretty moving even if Becky, Sasha and Charlotte had to poke their noses in and remind us all that Bailey is going to WWE to be misused like they have all been. The main event was legendary imo. Nakamura's entrance was a thing of beauty, but I felt Joe's entrance was really lackluster especially with Joe coming out second. The match itself was stiff and brutal and much more believable than the main event UFC was able to come up with. A-
All in all I'm excited that the UFC has embraced worked matches as this makes some proper competition for WWE and hopefully gives talent another avenue to showcase their skills. With CM Punk debuting soon I could see the UFC giving WWE a real run for their money if they let Punk use his mic skills and book him properly.
