What type of hip injury did Dustin Poirier have?

Someone got me thinking about this. Dude had hip surgery around November and competed for a championship in early April. Did he ever say what was exactly wrong?

Does anyone know of different types of hip procedures that only require 4-6 weeks of recovery and allow for full contact shortly after?

He had a torn labrum in his hip. I had the same surgery last year and it does take a long time to recover.

Thanks for the link. This was helpful, maybe it was just a minor tear.

It's done arthoscopically so incisions are small. The hip replacements are the ones you are probably thinking when you think of long recovery time. Even in a replacement if they are an anterior replacement recovery time is much shorter than posterior.
