I dont know comparative stats, but if anyone has them feel free to post them.

Imo it's either double legs or trips/throws. I'll go with double leg.

Effective? From what I was always taught by wrestlers and wrestling coaches is the inside trips. Theres a lot of powerful guys that get under the punches timed right and doubles work well too

no can defend if done properly, watch Yoel use them against Tavares and maybe Chris, also Islam last weekend.

Most effective? I suppose that would depend on who's doing it.

My favorite is Imanari Roll. Sounds like sushi, looks like awesome.

This. And it'd depend on the situation and opponent (how susceptible they are) too.

Does anyone have any stats on what's most high percentage? That's more along of what I'm asking, good answers so for tho.

Single legs are the safest, most proven, and most reliable

Jokes aside, Chael Sonnen blast double most effective offensive wrestling technique ive witnessed in a fight to this day

Depends on what you mean by effective...

I think slams make a big impression on judges, but the impact could lead to a possible scramble and loss of position...

Shooting in on legs works often enough, but can put your neck in a potentially bad position and has lead to chokes or counter-knees...

Pulling guard has worked for guys like Monson and Maia, but you are potentially putting yourself in a losing position in the judges’ eyes...

Tying up with someone in the clinch can be effective, but the whole time your opponent will also be jockeying for position and can end up taking you down before you take him/her down...

An Imanari roll or other unorthodox type takedown can take opponents by surprise, but don’t forget Imanari rolled right into a Joachim Hansen knee...

A slam isn't really a type of takedown, I don't know why you included that in the poll. I guess you could call what Lawler is doing in that gif a single leg into a slam.

eta: this video shows different ways of finishing a single-leg, what Lawler did to Askren could probably be termed a high-crotch or high-crotch lift

But this video also shows the difficulty in classifying different takedowns, for example, single leg versus trips, since an inside trip or a sasae trip are two different ways to finish a single leg.
But trips can also be done from other positions such as a bodylock, which can be very effective.

It's not so much one style of takedown, but chaining takedowns is what seems most effective. The whole far ankle pick, to single leg, to double, back to single, to judo throw/trip things guys like Khabib and Islam is always a treat to see.
