Not trolling with that. Haven't seen much about this here, mightve just missed it, but Endeavor is allegedly one of the more interested candidates to buy WWE.

This guy says they could do a "reverse Morris trust" and spin off UFC and merge it with WWE as a new company.

I know rasslin and MMA have deep ties, and i like both (whatofit?). If this happened I hope it doesn't lead to a bunch of copromotion stuff, but it is almost bound to.

Ultimately who knows if Vince McMahon will even let go of it, but I'm not sure how I'd feel if this specific scenario went down. Maybe I wouldn't mind if they were part of the same entity but stayed in their lanes.

WWE/UFC/Power Slap ... they'd own sports entertainment, but idk.

Thoughts?

It fits perfectly with the current direction of the UFC, away from it's history as a meritorious sport.

I'd pay good money to watch wrasslers get their asses kicked by real fighters in a real fight with wrasslin' fans watching like

Actually, I'm lying. I'd stream that shit. But I'd still watch gleefully. LOL!

You do know you can own two things at the same time and not combine them?

Why would they merge two completely different things when they can just own and make money from both?

It would be like Fenway merging the Red Sox with Liverpool fc. Just why? Two completely different sports.

Hell, that comparison actually makes more sense, because at least football and baseball are both sports.

I was thinking this

I think networks and broadcast platforms see them both thru the same 'sports entertainment' lens, broadcast deals are ultimately what matters to them both, so it wouldn't surprise me, but I don't love it.

I know, and acknowledged this in the OP.

literally said maybe wouldn't mind if they stayed in their lanes, and hoped they wouldn't start copromoting.

My belief is under the same banner, they'd both want to be more than that though, in hopes of increasing eyes on both. I don't love that.

WWE isnt really for sale, dont believe that nonsense, it was just a cover story for Vince to regain power
Wouldn't surprise me in the least. That guy is like a cockroach in the can't get rid of him sense.

Edit - lol mods - this was actually aimed at the MMA crowd and UFC (heavies) but whatevs lol.

Vince McMahon > Dana White
Dana has admitted that Vince is the greatest promoter of all time
Also Vince challenged him to a pro wrestling match or an Mma fight or both and Dana turned him down, he said he felt Vince was too old but we all know Vince would have fucked him up

I don't think they would do that. It doesn't even make sense from a business perspective. Both are the brand leaders in their own specific forms of entertainment.

WWE is the leading brand in pro wrestling and the UFC is the biggest organisation in a legitimate sport, MMA.

At most I could see them maybe getting a few WWE talents that have a background in MMA occasionally appear on the desk at ESPN or something. The Ronda Rouseys and the Bobby Lashleys of the world. Doubt Brock Lesnar would agree to do anything like that though.

On the flipside they would maybe have a few of the big WWE geeks like Cormier and Colby go and do promotional appearances in the WWE.

But as far as joint promotion or something like mixed WWE/UFC cards. Nah I just wouldn't ever see it happening.

I mean it wouldn't be the first time. There are multiple Japanese guys that have New Japan Pro Wrestling matches on their Sherdog records. So as much as I would like for this to not happen you can't say its far fetched that somebody would "fight" at WWE Wrestlemania at one point or another.

For 9 billion, I as a stock holder of Endeavor would not want that to go through. WWE would be a great place for retired UFC fighters to go but most do not have the acting chops to become characters and pull off acting during the fights Ronda still has not got it down.

There is talk about Endeavor looking at selling IMG Academy the school training future sports stars is expensive to run. But I see this as a great extension of UFC Performance Institutes and see in the future these merging so hope this sale of IMG Academy does not go through.

Endeavor has helped with early funding for Tempus Ex Machina who is taking the NFL by storm so it would be incredible if Endeavor would buy them asap. But Endeavor claims they are in "Debt-Reduction Mode" so not buying at the moment.

What I hope for Endeavor company is a merger with fast growing Fanatics, Inc. who are entrenching themselves more and more into sports while selling great products.

I no longer want them to buy WWE not at 9 billion, but buy Wasserman sports agency or buy Spatial who would add great VR to their streaming. If they need sports then I would want them to buy Glory KB or even cheaper buy BKFC.

This is the kind of thing I could see happening. Maybe WWE characters in UFC video games and vice versa just for fun like colby or covington, Maybe shared expo's, events, merchandisers, video game licesncing. Those things together could make both of them stronger while keeping them relatively seprate.

That would be the worst idea. Great if they want to kill the sport we here all love. May as well merge UFC with....

Pandas can go in the heavyweight division.

That would be disastrous for whatever little credibility the UFC still has left.

People already think some UFC fights are fixed. This would confirm it more or less in the eyes of many.

Nope.. Horrible idea.
