What happened to Gunnar Nelson?

Probably focused on being a coach for the time being.

some guys just take a while after a few losses he might be back in the next year or so or just retire and become a coach

Plus he had a family addition in October.

Gunnar Nelson happened to Gunnar Nelson, dude has McGregor levels of activity for someone that hasn't accomplished much. I get the dude is calm and zen like but by him not fighting he's not getting any closer to what I assume is his goal of becoming Champion. He's had far too many gaps of inactivity in between bouts to make me believe he's going to be anything more than a Journeyman at this point.

Burns jumped up to 170 and got right to it and has been taking fight after fight whether it be with a Full Camp or short notice and has benefited because of it. Nelson has lost fights here and there and disappears for what feels like years. Unless he's set for life and got that Red Panty Night money getting dripped to him by Conor he needs to get in there.

One dimensional, too small for WW it seems, lost a couple in a row, not as good as we thought.

Fun fighter to watch, sidelined with injuries. I understand a guy who started a family wants to stay put in Iceland to be quite honest in these pandemic times. So people need to think about that before judging too harshly. Also he shouldnt be lumped in with Conor's schenanigans. Gunnar had nothin to do w any of that

I dunno, but I'd like to see him back at some point. It was like watching the intersection of Wonderboy and Demian Maia in one fighter (albeit with a less polished version of each man's respective skill set, obviously). Pretty neat style and certainly a breath of fresh air; even if he wasn't a world-beater he was certainly decent. I feel like he could be a solid perennial Top 10 dude on his best day if he stayed active.
