anyone remember when it was actually good? it used to give very high resolution images of what you actually searched for. these days...pixelated 400x300 previews that look like awful, terrible accuracy, AI, semi-ADs, and limited search results.

why did google do this? did the biden admin shut it down? hate speech? censorship?

Not only is Google image search getting worse, another annoying thing is that Reddit has dominated most of the image results. When I'm looking for a gif to post on Sherdog most of the results are Reddit, and Reddit prevents direct hotlinking to their images.

Here a woman who was almost violently attacked at the gym using her video of the badguy was able to identify him based on some sort of web image search and his prior criminal mugshots from another state.

I stopped using Google after they force users to enable javascript and probably cookies.

Google sucks now for sure, but I got pissed with this a couple months ago and tried some different image searches like Bing, DuckDuckGo etc and they generally sucked even harder. Yandex seems to be the most reliable I'm finding but still not as good as Google used to be

Take it from an old shooper, for reverse image search try Tineye.

Was still very good last I used it couple years ago!

That’s just because goatse was from the early 2000s when there was no hi-res.

Google has been a regressing pile of shit for years. Wanting to outdo themselves, Google is even sabotaging YouTube now. Rather than focus on making a better product (ex. Android TV or native Android app synergy) they're focusing all of their energy into punishing adblockers. You think they would have learned from Twitch's failures. Adblocking won't be beaten. You're just inconveniencing and embittering us with these shenanigans.

To be honest, I only really use Google to find URLs, not to find a general thing. So if I were looking for film trivia, I'd rather punch "The Ring Trivia" into Google than go to imdb and navigate the site.

Last time I used images was probably for porn, before porn streaming sites were a thing. That and Tumblr.
