Just wondering what exactly a significant strike is? Does it carry more weight in terms of judging than just a regular strike. I would appreciate some input on this.
Thanks
Thanks
It is a strike that is landed at a distance, not in a clinch. That is how they determine a significant strike because usually it is a strike from a distance that knocks an opponent out.

Exactly where I got my information from. He also said that FightMetric kind of made that definition, no?

http://www.fightmetric.com/aboutthestats.html"significant strikes refer to all strikes at distance and power strikes in the clinch and on the ground. It does not include small, short strikes in the clinch and on the ground. Those will be included in the Total Strikes category."
A clean strike.
The amount of force that was behind the strike dictates the value of how significant or effective it was.
