In classic Schaub manner, he manages to call one of his trademark boring performances as anything but what it really was. He brings up Crocop, Gonzaga, and Lavar fights which is ironic, because those fights are the epitome of his snorlax style.

If you circle around in a boxing match, evading all your opponent's punches, without engaging, did you shut him down? I mean, why would you trade punches with a superior puncher? Did Kalib Starnes shutdown Nate Quarry? I mean he'd be dumb to get sucked into a fight with a fellow MMA fighter.

What do you people think? Are there any people who actually believe there was a shutting down? Are there any people left that have any semblance of respect for Brendan Schaub?

He shut down excitement.

It simply never had a chance against Schaub.

I have no idea what this is in reference to

Schaub competed in a grappling tournament called metamoris and he put on a starnes esque performance and shit up the place. Then bragged that he shut his opponents game down.

When asked why he shit the place up he responded that he didn't want to risk an injury, which left people wondering why he signed up in the first place, he then bragged about beating crocop, gonzaga and Lavar to boost his cred.

It's really hard to like that guy.

Yeah he has a shit attitude. The other guy should gotten up and went after him after buttscooting for 10 min didn't help.

Schaub was never expected to win. All he had to do was grapple and he would have earned brownie points for trying. This was his chance to improve his rep and it totally backfired.

Schaub is out winning fans like always...

Exactly.

Shinya Aoki got guillotined pretty quick and is anyone giving him shit? No. And he's meant to be a submission wizard too, not some generic MMA fighter like Schaub.

Schaub had the odds stacked INSANELY against him when he took on a no-gi champion and everyone knew it. He could've won new fans by simply diving in to the guys guard. Even if he got swept/subbed instantly, people still would've given him props for giving it a go and not being afraid.

But no, he decided to keep bizarrely patting the guy on the head and disengaging completely... Then he fucking BRAGGED about "shutting him down". He entered a grappling match and his defensive strategy was just to not grapple at all.

Such an epic, epic fail.
