International What do you think of this?

I don't give a shit about what the idiot woman is saying about diseases or crime (crime is more of a concern than disease, which is irrelevant), but we have a cost of living crisis. No room for so many people. That should be enough already for the government to say no to these numbers, because the government is supposed to principally advocate for the wellbeing of their citizenry, not for foreign citizens. It's ok to somewhat sacrifice your own citizenry sometimes - for example if Brits were all doing great and there was a genocide or famine abroad, fair enough dropping from "great" to "very good" to save people from big suffering (I imagine many Brits would ethically be very ok with that), but the UK isn't in that situation or even close to that.

The criminality can't be detached from the economic crisis. If no-criminal-minded people come here and have a poor economic situation that'll play into criminality, as well as into poor mental health. People who do come here should be in a proper situation, not in hotels which are overpriced and that don't allow them to have a normal life either.

Well, right or wrong, I tire of these people who "address an issue" by virtue signaling and crowing about humanity.

No one wants to hear about the humane soul you proclaim yourself to be. You either have a point or you don't.

So, do you have anything to say about it?

I think that it is absolutely disgusting.

You may agree with the caller or you may not, but the way Wright dealt with her was disgusting.

What purpose did it serve? Was it rational or civil? Was there any chance to freely exchange ideas and win people over?

People like Wright don't change minds, they push people to silence and keep them underground.

Wright has always been shit. I'm amazed he got on TV in the first place let alone still have an audience.

That's what I'd call the Jeremy Kyle approach to speaking to people.

I know that he had a show on Channel 5, but I never checked him out. I stopped watching TV when I moved off the Isle of Wight at twenty, only picking up on it when visiting a Travelodge.

I'm particularly disgusted because the LBC is quite a major radio station. To hear someone like this on a mainstream station is shocking to me.

It's one of the reasons why I despise people like this. Brexit occured because the right wing, those with concerns, weren't respected. I'd even argue that Donald Trumps first run happened because of this as well. It's a reoccurring loop that forces centralists to the right.

Agree 100% Nobody has ever been convinced of anything because somebody was condescending towards them.
