What do you think an optimal, in-shape Roy Nelson would weigh?

I don't know, but he would fight in the 170-185lb division

310 lbs.

Unfortunately the stupid UFC makes him cut weight, practically rendering him impotent.

Roy Nelson doesn't even have a big frame. He could easily make 170 if he cut just most of his fat.

Judging from pictures. He's around 40% bodyfat. He's 263, so 40% of 263 is 105 pounds. 263 - 105 = 158 pounds. Optimum bodyfat will be around 10% so 158 + 26 = 181 pounds. Losing fat will also result in some loss of muscle too, so lets estimate about 5 pounds of lean muscle loss especially considering that he would be cutting a significant amount of weight (naturally). His walk around weight would be around 176 pounds. At 176 pounds, he will most likely have to cut around 21 pounds, so therefore he will be fighting at lightweight. Or fighting at 170 with a small weight cut kinda like a Cerrone.

He will be a lightweight fighter, like a Tony Ferguson

TLDR: Huge 155 Pounder/Average Sized Welterweight

Yep. cain could be a middle weight but sheriff acts as though he'd have to cut his Leg off

I think he cuts to make weight and that effects his cardio and power so clearly 270-285.
