Some people liked the movie... a lot of people hated it...

I liked it. The twist about the aliens weakness was laughable but the movie is very entertaining, well acted, and creepy for the most part.

Terrible. Well acted though.

The only Shymalen film which wasn't awful was Unbreakable, imo.

I liked it a lot. M.Night's best movie imo.

Love the atmosphere, the music, the "scare" scenes actually scared me lol. Only complaint is that it drags in some parts.

Also really, really liked how he tied in the concept of everything DOES happen for a reason....even down to the little girl not liking the water, therefore she left water glasses all over the house, setting up the way to kill that alien...and the little boy having asthma prevented him from breathing the poison. And how all those little things, when Mel's character realized them, helped restore his faith. That was great. Also gave the title "Signs" a dual meaning.

stupid, Aliens attacking and their weakness was water. You'd think an Alien with the technology to get to earth would have done a little recon and maybe not come to a planet which was full of water and with it's inhabitants made of water.

Almost as stupid as the Village, that brought suck to a whole new level.

I remember it being on tv not so long ago and I just couldnt stay interested in it. And I just wanna say that the Sixth Sense and Unbreakable are both steaming piles of shit

Scared the shit out of my ex girlfriend for some odd reason. Just that one, not other Alien movies. Also the orange muppet fucks that throw their heads around in Labyrinth.

But being scared led to sex, so Signs was awesome.

I saw it in theatre and really liked it! Some of the special effects didn't age well though, especially the part where he cuts the dudes finger off.

The part on tv at the bday party freaked me out.

The invisible aliens scared the bejesus out of me. Beyond that, it was fair.

Yeah... I agree with all of this.

I thought it was lackluster at best...

Swing away?.....lulz... MNS tried so hard to make something insightful and illustrate some grandiose redemption moments in that film but it felt so formulaic and manipulative.

Even the always magnificent Joaquin Phoenix couldn't save it. I enjoyed Sixth Sense and Unbreakable but this film made me realize that M Night really wasn't expanding or challenging anything new in his filmmaking (especially in his writing and narrative flow) but rather a prisoner to the skillful elements that had brought him commercial success initially.

If this film was before Six Sense and Unbreakable, I would probably feel different about it.

It frightened me and entertained me and I'm glad I saw it when I did

Looked really dumb and never saw it.

I think m Shamalan I have seen are underwhelming. He's earned a rep he doesn't deserve.

It doesn't hold up on repeat viewings and it definitely hasn't aged well, but watching this in a theater with a packed crowd was pretty fun.

Hipsters love to hate on it but I enjoyed it. It had two of the eeriest/scariest moments in movie history for me:

Started off good, but man did it fail in delivering a good finish. Never watched it a second time.

Swing away...

lol

Will forever like it. I know the plot holes, but this is vintage m night with great performances by Mel and phoenix.
