Granite. There is a store by my house that does countertops and their warehouse is in the back. They let you walk through and look at all the different slabs before they're cut. It's really cool.

100% Stone in the Kitchen. I am working on a deal with a Cousin to have him custom make Me a Bar and Counter for the Basement from wood reclaimed from Our Grandparents Farm though.

Light gray Granite - with a BIG plate of home made brownies on it.
After consumption, I do not plan to operate any heavy equipment.
I had cornbread on my granite earlier. Would’ve preferred brownies.

I thought this was a slippery bottom with the jits capability to become a top thread.

If the pattern is beautiful I prefer granite, however quartz is the most durable lowest maintenance and has the most options since it's man made. That is why you see many homes with quartz that look like various calacatta marble. They get the look without the maintenance.

If i were to make something for myself i'd probably go some concrete/epoxy wood hybrid..

If commercial probably some reasonable hardwood or stone.. possible to replace/polish.. all surfaces take wear and tear..

I have granite, but if I had to choose it again I'd go for wood, and I wouldn't be shy about beating the hell out of it.. the more character the better.
