Welterweight Situation and Harut Grigorian

Harut Grigorian,the older of Grigorian brothers,became pretty underground after he went out from the bigger organizations with the end of the 2012 k-1 max after the K-1 bankrupt.

Harut used to be the most famous of Grigorian brothers in the past,fought with some good names in its showtime era,who fought with some big names back in the day as Souwer,Ngimbi Khamal and Groenhart((the last man to knock him out after an comeback on k-1 max 2012 final 16,being knocked out against the future champion)


After 4 years,Harut had some big victories as when he won A-1 70kg tournament defeating Enfusion stars Tayfun Ozkan and knocking out Nordin Ben Moh

His most recent victories over El Boustati and the good prospect Maximo Suarez bring him back to the heavies.

At glory 31,He is facing the good and agressive as him,Kongolo in a contender 4 man tournament,witch promises to be one of the best fights of the year IMO, while in the other semi final we have Groenhart vs Karim Benmansour.


If Grigorian could defeat Kongolo and the other semi finalist winner(i think will be Benmansour,he is a bad matchup for Groenhart as Doumbe was too)

Grigorian for me can be the biggest danger to holzken on a title fight(Kyshenko is the biggest,but he is now the kunlun fight king on china and he is having success there,he already said on a podcast why he leave and why he is not going bak to glory)

- Aggressive and always walking forward fight style,very good cardio as his brother,highly accurate hooks,especially the left and some big downstairs and upstairs punches combinations+ high knee,big power on his hands he can knock people out with crosses ,i see Harut Grigorian as the the best name to defeat Holzken.

What you guys think about this tournament and who you think is going to challenge Holzken?

Welterweight Division became the second best and most competitve division on glory,just behind the always badass 70kg,with guys like Karapetyan,Stetcurenko,Sudgen,Grigorian,Doumbe,Benmansour,Kongolo and Groenhart,Hozlken it not going to have an easy future on defending his title as it was in the past,big names of the division just came now for face him

I hope Grigorian wins so we could see a new challenge for Holzken but I'd also love to see Kongolo against Groenhart, which I think is more likely to happen

Pretty off-topic, but apparently Marat and Harut aren't brothers. Hemmers said that in a preview a while back and when I looked into it their trainer said the same in an interview a few years ago.

There is a lot of upcoming talent coming in the 76 KG * coughes *.
BUT YEAH, Harut Grigorian used to fight at 70 KG hardly making weight at times and recently he has been fighting at 74 so I suppose moving up in weight would happen sooner or later.

He is a REALLY strong guy with a good chin, yet he usually eats a shot or two which gives an opportunity to his opponent.
He's also the type of match up for the regressing Holzken that'll possibly make Holzken look good or drop him hard.

Let's not forget his previous fight with Groenhart, where I remember he was wooping him for 3 rounds and got countered and dropped in the last round after a fight he totally dominating.


P.S. They're cousins, if I'm not mistaken.
