the main difference between pro wrestling and "soap operas" besides the obvious physical/athletic aspect of it is that there lines are performed live on the spot. They cant fuck up like actors in movies can and just retake the shoot.

Movies and books NEVER try to sell themslelves as REAL. Movies are entertaiment. There are movies that are not good at all, but any movie the show in more the 2000 theatres in the US are good movies. Pro rasslin is not good, it's entertainment for inbred rednecks.

All movies tell a story, whether fictional, inspired from a true story, etc. But we know it's still a story being told.
Compare the entertainment quality of Braveheart with SmackDown. That is my point. Pro rasslin is on the very low end of entertainment, but its still entertainment, just like some movies that go straight to DVD and bomb in sales.
I had high hopes that MMA would destroy pro rasslin. With UFC on FOX and the death of PPV, title fights being on the main FOX channel for FREE, less and less will pay for the fake shit.
pro wrestling will never die lol. Wrestlemania> all UFC ppvs.
