I would have thought this story would have been posted but had a good look and couldn't find. Sorry if I missed it.

Undisputed heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk is set to be investigated by the WBO after a video on social media showed the Ukrainian dancing despite claims of a back injury.

Usyk has not fought since knocking out Daniel Dubois in July to become a two-time undisputed champion at heavyweight, and in the immediate aftermath of his win, Joseph Parker was set to be the next man to challenge the pound-for-pound star as a result of being the mandatory challenger for the WBO title.

However, despite being ordered on July 24 to begin negotiations with Parker and a 30 day deadline to complete them, Usyk's team reported that the two-weight undisputed champion was undergoing medical examinations on previous injuries on August 7.

Two days later, the WBO were given medical reports on Usyk citing a back injury which would keep him out of action for one month before a further month of therapy.

As reported by Boxing Scene's Lance Pugmire, the WBO was set to grant Usyk and his team a 90-day suspension to negotiations with Parker, but then came a video on social media showing Usyk dancing at a concert earlier this week.

I agree that Usyk should fight vs Parker, especially cos he had short last fight and this does matter a lot for next fight.

However Usyk was WBO world champion after he had fight on foreign soil vs then undefeated WBO world champion and current main tickets seller for event.

So he had deserved his title and not only had win, after this always had defended this status on foreign soil.

Ofc it is big difference to dance with 0 workload and to dance in ..yes..

So I might agree with option that he maybe really isn't in shape cos real reasons...
This really might be real life.

However I'm not against Usyk's next fight vs Parker, pretty opposite.
He is over the hill and aging long ago and should get paychecks ASAP....Father Time is counting tick tack click click. Especially cos his style ....
Eddie and Frank already had delayed next fights cos famous clauses.... a lot....
Enough.

Wardley v Parker for this belt later on this year, i expect the winner to fight Itauma

Do you really think that today bout Parker vs Itauma is enough safe vs Usyk uncle version or more lazy Parker version ?

If Usyk will not vacate belt or just retire, he even if will be stripped by WBO still will remain an Undefeated Champ in division.
Uncle Usyk ... undisputed and lineal champion etc.

WBO had helped Usyk and Parker damn a lot and I do want to see Usyk vs Parker. I do support such idea.

no, re-read what i said

I made a post about this days ago in another thread that the WBO is investigating his "injury." He did have one of his doctors submit medical evidence of it initially but now that's obviously been thrown into question after this video surfaced. The WBO is asking for a full medical re-examination that's more thorough. He doesn't look injured at all. Even if he was it wouldn't prevent him from negotiating with Parker so I'm not sure why the WBO granted him an extension to begin with.

I think this was just a stalling tactic by Team Usyk which seemed to have worked. Parker has now moved on and is fighting Wardley next. We've never seen Usyk play any games whatsoever in his entire career so I can only suspect that he's doing it to appease Turki simply because he doesn't want him fighting Parker next. He's already said that he won't pay for the fight because he isn't interested in it.

I knew it.
Ban him from boxing and strip him of his belts.
It's only 1 of the 4 sanctioning bodies. Besides, if the WBO does decide to strip him then they lose their multi-million dollar meal ticket. That's what they make every time they sanction one of his fights. In his last 2 fights he's made a quarter billion dollars. They're not the ones with the leverage here.

Who gives a fuck, he JUST fought. The WBO can eat a dick.

It's people like Joseph Parker who you are actually telling to eat a dick because of this, not the WBO, which will be just fine. Why would you support a boxer potentially screwing other boxers out of earned opportunities through lies?

And a sanctioning body isn't supposed to investigate when they have been blatantly lied to? Why would that make you upset?

Your emotional outburst is quite retarded.

Emotional? Lol.

As I said, Usyk JUST fought. He isn't the WBO'S puppet.

ps... Joey P already has a fight booked.

no issue with Usyk being stripped at all, let Parker fight Wardley for the belt, it also opens up an opportunity for Itauma to potentially get a title shot he has a chance of winning later down the line

Very emotional. The capitalization for emphasis, the initial use of profanity and exaggerated terms like 'puppet', the inability to think critically about who is at fault in this situation when it is clear who is being dishonest. All obvious signs.

Your outburst is like a woman yelling at the police when they show up to ask why her felon boyfriend missed his court appearance. It's not a rational response to the situation.

My thoughts exactly (not that I believe they will strip him, therefore, he should either retire or vacate the WBO)
I said it recently but I think that the WBO needs to strip Usyk if he doesn't want to fight Parker. Since Parker is their interim champ he'd be elevated. This would set the stage for Itauma vs Parker for the full WBO title if/when Itauma gets past Hrgovic. That's the easier path to a world title for Itauma and it could happen for him possibly as soon as early next year.

The WBO gave in. They granted Usyk a 90 day extension. He still has to fight the winner of Parker vs Wardley next.

Parker himself is even defending Usyk lol.

“I mean, what is the injury? A back injury? Who knows?” Parker said of Oleksandr Usyk during an interview with talkSPORT.

“He deserves time off, and you know, when he does come back, hopefully we can get on down the line,” Parker continued. “But for now, Fabio Wardley, this is the one.”

Usyk defended by unlikely source amid ‘hide-and-seek’ accusation on boxing return

Frank always is telling that Fury vs Usyk III might make more attention than Usyk vs Parker.
He is obsessed that boxer's passport is super important IMHO.

Turki is very rich &, these princes wants attention for events to increase saudites etc popularity.
Who will be champ, Turki doesn't cares. He wants attention for events. More = better.

So IF Turki does thinks that fight a will create more attention than fight b, then....
