Watch your body language people

How the fuck do you hold a coffee cup at your side. This article sucks and I'm burning it and suing them

For example, after training I usually my shoulders are down and I hunch. Doesn't mean I have low self confidence, it's just I'm tired.

tbf it could be subconsciously low self confidence

didnt realized narrowing my eyes when talking gave the impression that I didnt like them

Narrowing Your Eyes – If you want to give someone the impression that you don’t like them (or their ideas), narrow your eyes while looking at them. It immediately places a scowling expression on your face. A slight narrowing of the eyes is an instinctual, universal expression of anger across various species in the animal kingdom (think about the angry expressions of tigers, dogs, etc.). Some people make the mistake of narrowing their eyes during a conversation as a reflex of thinking. Don’t send people the wrong message… don’t narrow your eyes.

Yeah, I was worried I was coming across as self-conscious, so I'm going to be following these 25 rules to the letter and I'm sure I'm going to be doing much better now.

Half of this shit is stupid. I constantly tap my fingers and feet and it doesnt mean anything other than Im playing along with a song in my head. Ive played drums for 16 years so it just happens. It can be in an important conversation, while im driving or just chillen by myself. I also slump my shoulders after a long workout and carrying your drinks by your side when the top doesnt have a lid is uncomfortable. How does that show lack of confidence when im flexing my bi's while holding my coffee in front of me?

Those are legit but I wouldn't pay too much attention to it.

Some days people are tired/mad so of course they'll have those traits but doesn't mean they're like that all the time.

For example, after training I usually my shoulders are down and I hunch. Doesn't mean I have low self confidence, it's just I'm tired.

This. Body language can tell a lot about a person's true intentions, but it's all about context. Some people find crossing their arms comfortable.

I've actually read a lot about this. The key is to notice when a person's body language changes (and what caused the change) along with using multiple of the cues from the article to interpret the meaning.

The hardest part is the learning to actively observe and interpret everything.

Mostly poppycock.

I'll take body language "experts" seriously when one gets into the final round of the World Series of Poker.

Not sure about that list.

I don't recall doing any of those things when just talking with someone. And some of them are weird like, you can't hold a cup of coffee while talking ? what?

So that's why people are disgusted when I jerk it in public. I need to jerk it to the side.

Fake smiles are necessary to get along in the professional world. Anybody telling you to stop doing them hasn't thought about it too much.

I do lots of these things when I'm thinking about things. The effort I'd have to put in to stop them would be a big pain in the a**.

Most professional players are pretty much body language experts.

This is what I'm saying. Pro poker players are real body language experts, these pop psy "experts" are the equivalent of fortune tellers, palm readers and astrologists.

Joe Navarro, the worlds leading authority on body language, worked for the FBI for like 30 years using body language interpretation in interrogations to solve countless high profile cases.

Thats more impressive than being good at poker imo

True.

Overall, people with low self confidence have those traits but if they read about body language then they can just fake it so they'll look alpha as fuck.
