I feel like this match-up of lethal strikers has been overlooked on the stacked 251 card. It could very well be the fight of the night.

I think Oezdemir has been in with far better opposition & should KO the UFC newcomer but Prochazka is awfully dangerous & in the midst of an excellent win streak. Who do the rest of you think comes out on top in this one?

I think Jiri made a terrible mistake and picked a fight that they thought was a better fight than other alternatives. I think Volkan is the worst match up for him than anyone in the LHW top 10. In my opinion, including everyone.

I think Volkan by something.

I think jiri is aiming way too high for his ufc debut and he’s gonna get askren’d. But the betting odds disagree with me and have this fight very close.

The odds are making me hesitant too haha, but Volkan has just fought way better competition and I don't think he'll have too much trouble getting a UD of Jiri's first UFC. Don't think either will be finished tbh

Volkan has hung up there with the very best guys in the world at this weight class. If jiri takes out Volkan you can almost gurantee he’s going to be a force at LHW for years.

You're really expecting a distance fight? Interesting.

Do you see it as a barnburner of a fight or a more tactical fight between two cautious opponents? Myself, I don't think there's a chance that it goes three full rounds. But, then again, I said the same thing about the Lewis-Ngannou fight so... LOL.

Volkan will KO or win a clear decision

I hope they fast track jiri to the top 5 with this win. I want to see Jiri vs Jan if he wins this fight. If what jones says is true, and he's retiring the division is wide open. Reyes vs santos for the LHW title is the obvious fight but jiri/ozdemir vs jan could be for the next LHW title shot.

I think Volkan will fight Jiri how he fought Reyes. Use his grappling, his clinch work and pick the exchanges he's comfortable with. I think Jiri will struggle the first two rounds, and try and pour it on in the third but it will be too little too late.

I think Volkan commands a better understanding of fundamentals and will be able to exploit the holes Jiri's unrelenting aggression can leave. It could end very quickly, but Oezdemir might just let Jiri empty out his gas tank early and pick him off in the second half of the fight, like he did against Rakic.

I mean, that kind of outcome wouldn't be too out there considering how the Reyes and Rakic fight played out; Volkan, while powerful and not scared of pushing forward, is more than fine with pacing himself across 15 minutes ever since the Anthony Smith fight.

Another thing we could see is him bringing out his wrestling to truly make Prochazka work early.

It'll be interesting to see how Jiri chooses to approach a match that doesn't have a 10 minute first round, he's been a slow starter before and pretty much gave away a good chunk of the frame before blasting his opponent, so it could definitely be a factor against a durable guy like Volkan.

And I guess his cardio is underrated considering that he did make Nemkov quit.

I think he'll have nerves just like anyone else making a UFC debut. I don't think he'll come out balls to the wall, and he'll lose rounds because of it. Then he'll probably try and turn it on in the third, possibly get the stoppage, but I see Volkan holding on for the UD

Honestly, with how he's been talking about the fight, I think he'll do exactly the opposite of that and pay dearly for it. Hope we get a good fight, but I think it might look like his first meeting with King Mo.

Good points, gentlemen. I still think it's likely to end early but now that I read your posts I can see the possibility of a distance fight whereas before I couldn't.

It's funny because honestly man, I see almost every fight on this main card going to decision
