Boxing in shambles rn. Saudi Arabia pulled all the stops to make sure their cash cow Fury didn’t lose.

What's fun about this not being for the belt is that no one gives a shit about official scorecards.
The winner is just who people think it is.

As an actual boxing match how should it be scored? In boxing you don't win a round for landing one hard punch like so many MMA fans think, hell that's not even supposed to be the rules in MMA. Frank wins the 3rd 10-8 for the knock down per the rules I believe. Watching it live I was amazed how well Frank did and I noticed he wasn't afraid to stay in the pocket. He didn't just stand still and get clobbered trying to wing a power bomb either.

1st round was 10-9 Fury
2nd round was Fury 7/25 landed (28% vs Frank 6/19 landed 31% Score 10-9 but for who?
3rd round is automatically 10-8 for Frank
4th 6/27 Fury vs 8/23 Frank so I guess 10-9 Frank
5th round 9/22 Fury 41% vs 6/27 Frank 22% so 10-9 Fury
6th round 9/23 Fury vs 6/27 Frank so 10-9 Fury
7th round 5/17 Fury 29 % vs 5/20 Frank 25% so 10-9 but for who?
8th round 9/29 Fury 31% vs 10/39 Frank 26% so 10-9 but for who?
9th round 8/23 Fury vs 2/16 Frank 10/9 Fury
10th 6/14 Fury vs 4/22 Frank so pretty close but likely 10-9 Fury.

That's six rounds that go to Fury almost for sure (I am not a boxing aficionado). Frank wins a 10-8 for the 3rd and he won the 4th.
2nd, 7th & 8th are what makes the difference. If my thinking is correct as to how boxing is and should be scored per the existing rules then it is 67-65 for Fury before scoring 2,7 & 8.

Two judges gave Frank the 2nd.
Two judges fave Fury the 7th.
All 3 judges gave Frank the 8th.

That gives a score of 95-94 Fury. Looking closer two of the judges gave Frank the 10th round which gives a score of 95-94 Frank.
Clearly a very close fight. The one judge with a 96-93 score only gave Frank the 2nd, 3rd (which is automatic and no choice) and 8th round. He is clearly using some metric the other two are not.

I don't know if boxing literally just scores punches landed with the most landed wins? I have heard % landed is important and defense (making your opponent miss) is important. Being the busier fighter is important. All that seems to contradict.
If fighter A throws 100 punches and lands 10 and fighter B throws 50 punches and lands 9 who wins and why?
Most landed goes to A
Busier fighter goes to A
Better defense goes to B as 90 punches missed
higher % landed (more efficient) goes to B
etc etc.
