Vartanyan who?

Top 5 lightweight in the world, exciting, a finisher, a dangerous style matchup for Islam.
He only has one name?

He would never get to Islam in time anyways. Islam has 1, maybe 2 fights left at 155lbs then he likely goes up to 170lbs for a title fight and retires. Unless the UFC gave Eduard some win 3 and get a title shot claus...he'd likely be out of his prime by the time he got a title shot anyways. It sucks, they should have still signed him...shit back in 2023 when he sat down with them and had his visa. Oh well, I hope he goes to PFL or ONE...while ONE sucks, a fight vs Christian Lee would be awesome.
He'll go back to ACA I think.
It doesn't look like the fight will be in the ACA, and a decisive win would get UFC notice so he may still have a UFC shot.Vartanyan is facing Alexander Grozin at Nashe Delo event in August.
He's already gotten decisive wins and met with them, refusing a contender series showing might also put him on a shitlist too. Only way he gets signed is if Dana and co. are held at gunpoint. It doesn't look like the fight will be in the ACA, and a decisive win would get UFC notice so he may still have a UFC shot.
They found out they don't have to shell out cash for the absolute best from top to bottom, and can keep having record profits each year still. The UFC has passed over quite a few good fighters lately.
Its no longer the best fighting the best and more like some of the best fight sometimes.
They could easily have the craziest roster of killers but fail to even offer these guys contracts.
I think they use the DWCS to say no because they know the better guys are not going to belittle themselves doing that candy ass show for fuckin peanuts.
Their philosophy is broken at this point, and I'm not sure they'll ever bring it back tbh.
Yeah it seems that they really went the other way with it all sir. They found out they don't have to shell out cash for the absolute best from top to bottom, and can keep having record profits each year still.
Ironically enough the Bellator bidding wars that happened about 8 or so years ago had the inverse long-term effect that people were expecting - they let some very expensive guys go, some of which were at the end of their rope or had a boring style, and were better off for it while Bellator got deeper and deeper in the red.
It's emboldened them now to the point where they're more than willing to pass up on exciting talent if they don't compromise their paycheck.
I wish he'd sign with PFL. All kinds of good, fresh fights for him there. Grozin is good but I think Vartanyan is a cut above and I can't envision him losing some freak thing notwithstanding.
