Yes, that's exactly why the parade is happening. It's totally about the 250th anniversary of the US Army, and not at all about Trump ordering a parade on his birthday like some kind of cartoon dictator. Any reports to the contrary are lügenpresse fake news.

I don't give a shit about deferments in and of themselves. I do take exception to someone that gets a deferment and then wants the military to fellate him. This is all about Trump's ego and it's a waste of money. The optics are especially bad when the budget bill that Trump just announced has massive cuts to government programs that benefit citizens. Want to honor the military? Support more comprehensive medical care. Have a program that helps military personnel, past and present, to become homeowners. Have training programs for them when they leave the military. Any one of those would be more beneficial.

They cut funding to 9-11 firefighters. Most of those firefighters bodies are riddled by cancer but as long as the guy you worship gets a parade well fuck dem firefighters who got cancer risking their lives saving Americans from an attack on our soil.
