Just thought it would be useful to have a thread to keep track of who's getting canned/moving onto pastures new. Probably not going to list guys like Cain, Pettis or Lombard who are big enough news to have had their own threads.
Ricky Rainey
Welterweight
UFC Record : 0-2
I'm not sure this guy was ever UFC quality, so I can't say this is a bad release. Will probably go back to Bellator.
Ryan MacDonald
Bantamweight
UFC Record : 0-2
Came to the UFC undefeated but hadn't faced nearly enough quality competition before coming in. Proceeded to get his arse handed to him twice, including managing to get KO'd by Louis Smolka. Deserved release, imo
Sheymon Moraes
Featherweight
UFC Record : 2-3
I don't really get this release. Sheymon's losses were to Zabit, Fili and Sodiq and he's beaten Sayles and Arce who they still seem high on. Should probably pick up a few regional wins before coming back, though he'd be an excellent pick-up for someone like Bellator.
Humberto Bandenay
Featherweight
UFC Record : 1-3
This dude looked like he might have had something when he KO'd Martin Bravo in his debut, but he's looked pretty clueless since then. He's young, so maybe he can go away and learn to wrestle and come back in a couple of years.
Azamat Murzakanov
Light Heavyweight
UFC Record : 0-0
Signed, immediately fell foul of USADA, and presumably has no interest in pissing clean.
Dan Moret
Lightweight
UFC Record : 0-3
Standard late replacement signing who wasn't really good enough to fight at UFC level who went on to get and lose a few fights. Doubt he'll be heard from at this level again.
Julian Erosa
Lightweight
UFC Record : 0-3
Second time Juicy J has been released. He's in a bit of a funny position where he's very, very good at regional level but not quite good enough to get UFC wins. I like his style so I wish him the best.
