Rankings are based on FightMatrix; if a fighter wasn't listed on a champion's resume, the most likely explanation is either the fight didn't take place at the corresponding weight class for which they were champion, the fighter wasn't ranked in the top ten, or the fighter was removed from the rankings due to inactivity. I distinguished the weight classes in each fighter's resume with green and red colored font.

Does TJ not count because he moved down?

TJ fought for the 125 title but lost so he was never a champ-champ.

On the other hand, Amanda Nunes should be on the list and I'd think she's getting up there in top 10 wins.

This is a lot for my brain to handle but fucking good job putting this all together.

I wanted to argue it but hey, when you're beat, you're beat.

GOAT ST Pierre bless us all.

I have zero interest in doing any of these threads on WMMA, especially since their rankings are so small by comparison that it's laughably easy to get into the top ten.

For example, FightMatrix has a grand total of 35 fighters listed under Women's Bantamweight right now, while Heavyweight has 250 fighters.

Hendo beat Wanderlei for the belt yet he wasn't ranked?

Silva was removed from the rankings for having not fought at Light Heavyweight in 2 years (he'd fought Arona in 2005, nothing but Heavyweight in 2006, then fought Henderson in 2007).

Of course, I had also prefaced all of these threads for why a fighter wasn't potentially listed in someone's resume.

Awesome list
My take away is the GOAT is GSP and it's not close. Head and shoulders above everyone.

There's a lot of greats in this sport. We can acknowledge their greatness without diminishing the greatness of others. But the greatest to ever do it, based on accomplishments at the highest level of the sport, is GSP. I'd say Khabib at his best would have given GSP the toughest fight of his career, but GSP reigned longer and had more top wins. No disrespect to either guy. And none to Fedor, Anderson, and the others. They were great. GSP was greater.

These rankings change depending on where you set the boundaries. Top 4, top 5, top 10, top 15. 10 is still arbitrary.

Top six or top eight would be arbitrary. Top ten is pretty standard

I'm pretty sure Nogueira had more top 10 victories than Fedor.

Great job TS. It’d be interesting to highlight the different divisions in each resume. Some like GSP would have just one win in one division.

Some like DC would have multiple, which is impressive (even if he never beat Jones).

Fedor is the GOAT in my eyes, but it really all depends on the criteria. Different metrics = different GOAT. I hold no bias against the claim for Silva, GSP or even Jones if one thinks PEDs don't matter.

nice compilation, @acannxr
Shows how far Conor is from what his fans claim.
Much respect to GSP, as a person and a fighter.

That is something I thought of, given how lopsided GSP was for his resume; I distinguished the weight classes in each fighter's resume with different colored font.

Nogueira has 9, Emelianenko has 12 (See my Heavyweight thread linked in the OP).

Great job TS.
