Numbers don't lie. Because sometimes they don't say shit anyway.

So no change?

The knockout rate decreased by 3.2% after TRT was banned (2013-2014).
The knockout rate decreased by 2.3% after USADA (2015-2016).

The knockout rate increasing by 1.5% in 2017 is a good sign though.

Edit: This comment is based on all fights from 2013-2017.

Or it's all by chance and matchups and every year is different, and there are even a different amount of fights too and a different amount of weightclasses in those years. So, it's by chance.

Looks like it took a year for fighters to make adjustments to new drugs and/or new administration techniques.

There are too many variables to attribute the decrease of the rate on the TRT use or IV ban.
Yes, it is a small change, but we could also consider style match up differences, aging, etc

Still, interesting idea TS

Total fights and totals of finishes would probably give us a better chance to make some sort of judgement. The percentages are too small. There could have been 1 or 2 less cards from one year to the next, plus cancelled fights etc. That could be the reason there were increases or decreases.

I wanted to be lazy and not compare individual divisions, that data would probably give a clearer picture, but I'm mentally fried after collecting data for 376 fights for the year 2013 . Can I post that stuff tomorrow...

...please?

Wow.

*removes glasses*

A 1.1 drop in knockouts.

Erase all pre USADA wins, immediately. This exponential decrease simply tells No lies.

There aren't as many KO's. In the last few years I have noticed a ton of TKO's where the fighter isn't even rocked.

Like Sages first fight against Trevino.

Fighters off juice are easier to finish.
Looks like it took a year for fighters to make adjustments to new drugs and/or new administration techniques.
So most likely 49% in 2018
Is the change statistically significant?
So, you're saying in 2019 100% finish?

Get schwifty!

Original post has been edited to examine each individual division, with total fights in each division for each year also included.

And it is at this point that I cannot be held accountable for future posts at least until tomorrow due to mental exhaustion :D.
