UFC-fighters without a BJJ rank?

I just thought of this, is there any fighter in the UFC that doesn't have a belt in BJJ? They may be training no-gi jiujitsi, some academies don't grade and give out belts to that.

Is there any fighter that has actually said he/she doesn't have a belt in BJJ?

Most bjj ranks in mma mean absolutely nothing, and are certainly not indicative of their actual bjj skill. I doubt there are many who would question the fact that high profile figures are given belts merely to promote their gym and raise their stock, and conversely others would be in the purple to black range despite no having any specific rank.

He was a catch-wrestler for most of his career, but he trained under Machado and was given a black belt almost immediately due to experience and is now a second degree black belt.

So, given the TS is asking who doesn't have a rank, it isn't Josh fucking Barnett.

Yeah.

applying a submission on someone who is half-KOed and/or gassed is NOT the same as methodically taking them down, passing their guard, establishing a heavy mount/side control and threatening submission chains.

That's Gunnar Nelson type stuff, aka way beyond Jones's ability.
