I think the reasoning behind the change is that a casual just wouldn't care seeing all the "nice" guys in the poster. If you didn't know who they were, you'd never guess they're all badasses. They look way too nice to be fighters.

Now Weidman looks like a grizzled lumberjack, Vitor looks like he's only got 1 eye, and Rumble looks like he just killed somebody. In short, they all look like they could fuck you up.

So I understand the change from a marketing perspective.

This happens time to time. First is most likely a rush job thrown together when things were official and read to be announced, just to get the info out there.

Second is the actual promo, where the first gives no sales information. They make it look more ominous to hype it and get people to want to sign up for Fight Club so they can get tickets.

seems like no one else realized that the first poster was a temp poster... noticed with a few other events, whenever they put out a new event, an automatic temp poster was put out with it. either in blue or black.. check out faber vs edgar poster for example. that one will change i believe.
