UFC 281 had 11 finishes.

Great card. Very entertaining. And most of the people I wanted to win did. Can’t ask for much more than that.

They figured out the formula...put the biggest mismatches for best violence and finishes.
At this point they are promoting Frankie Edgar fights (who is a UFC legend)...like..who can KO Frankie the cleanest for promos.
The sad part is that Dana really likes Frankie. Can you imagine if he didn't like Frankie? Frankie vs Ngannou?

There were a few mismatches in hindsight. Edgar vs Chris and Molly vs Erin. Then a handful of fights (Fevola vs Azaitair) just became squash matches

Still there were a lot of fun moments

Honestly that fight put me in a sour mood, everyone knew what was gonna happen the minute that fight was made.
Frankie shouldn't of been fighting a killer like Gutierrez for his retirement bout. I get it business wise, but morally it was very messed up from the UFC considering how much Frankie has done for the company.
Showing Frankie's family beforehand made it even worse.

Anyways at least most of the fights before and after that were pretty good or great, the only other mismatch was Blanchfield/McCann however I enjoyed that one since I think Molly's annoying.

UFC 281.
14 fights.
11 finishes.
7 first round finishes.

What a card.
The main event was amazing. The rest of the card, not so much.
Finishes don't mean great fights.
Weili vs Carla.....mismatch...Carla was boring winning and losing the title....she's seems like a real nice lady on a personal level
Dustin vs Chandler.....fun fight....Chandler did better than I thought....I thought it was a mismatch going in, it wasn't.
Edgar vs Gutierrez....mismatch....Dana should be ashamed of himself for making that fight
Hooker vs Puelles....mismatch
Renato vs Riddell.....mismatch.....but fun fight and interesting octagon interview
Spann vs Reyes.....mismatch.....Reyes is shot....Spann is a must watch fighter though
Erin vs Molly....mismatch....Molly has nothing on the ground...Erin is someone to watch moving forward. Hopefully she takes some of Molly's hype for herself, she deserves it.

Summary: Main Event was a classic, after that there were a few cool moments but the fights weren't competitive outside Dustin/Chandler.

Probably the best UFC PPV card this year IMO.
I think UFC 280 was better. The matchmaking was much better. If TJ was healthy, it would've been off the charts. Izzy/Pereira fight was a classic though. If we are going by headliner, there's an argument. If we are going by depth of card, then 280 is much better IMO. I want to see great fights and competitive fights, it doesn't have to be a finish for me. The Edgar fight is an embarrassment to the UFC and to the sport of MMA. That's not how to treat a legend like Edgar.

This card gave me nostalgic feels that I haven't felt in a while. Even with all the great events we've had recently something about this one just felt perfect.

Extremely memorable night and card of the year for me personally.
